An exhibition showing the cry of silent tears

Belinda Mason, an Australian photographer, has gathered together the testimonies of 25 women who come from 20 countries. The result of these tales of ill-treatment, blows, genital mutilation, sex abuse, violence, abandonment and forced sterilization converged at the multimedia exhibition Silent Tears. Sponsored by the Australian Council for the Arts, the exhibition (which after Australia was shown in Geneva, Berlin and Venice), tells of disabled women victims of violence and of women who have become disabled because of the violence they have suffered at home or in facilities theoretically intended to provide shelter for them.
